Recovering game off backup disc mac

Hello,

I am not much of a player, but do play some, and know a little bit about the game. But, my computer crashed back in july, and I have backups of everything on an external hard rive, but don't know how to recover my lost game. I have spent a long time building some of the stuff on it (for me), and would really like to be able to play on it again. It would make my sister (plays a lot more than I do) really happy.

What software did you use to make the backups? It should be possible to browse into the '%appdata%\roaming\.minecraft\saves' folder of the back up and copy the relevant game save.
