Forge does not create a "Mods" folder when adding files to my .minecraft

Hello everybody :)

I'm relatively new to Minecraft and after playing Single-Player Survival for about 3 months, I decided to get some mods to improve my experience. I did everything that a wiki page told me to do and was able to play for a good amount of time with awesome mods like Voxelmap, Optifine, Damage Indicators, etc. Unfortunately, I was a bit confused in my updating to Minecraft 1.8

I do not know if you have to update forge for a new version of minecraft, and I personally doubt it, just for some background on why this issue came to be in the first place.

I re-downloaded Forge. I have read many, many forum posts about doing this, but only after doing so myself. I deeply regret it. When you download forge, at the end of the client install it says something along the lines of "Grabbed __ Required Libraries." Of course, it did this for me, but when I went into my .minecraft folder, it had no mods folder in it, even though I had left it alone before the download. It just disapeared into thin air. People have told me to just make another mods folder, as it does the same thing, but there must be something else holding me back from doing that.

I have no clue as to where to go with this or how to fix it, but I really want to get back into modding. If anybody has any tips on how I can fix this, PLEASE let me know.

Thanks for anything you my have :) -TribeLegion0199

First of all, there are no mods out for 1.8, nor is Forge out for 1.8 (excluding base edit mods such as TMI). For now, you cannot play Minecraft 1.8 with mods until Forge updates.

If you are trying to do this for a 1.7 or below version, and Forge doesn't generated a mods folder, you can create a mods folder easily and everything should work.
